The Heritage Chorale’s 75th Anniversary Season continues with POPS Diamond Jubilee, in which we celebrate the long and rich history of our chorus by presenting a selection of hit songs popular during each of our milestone anniversary years.

Opening with songs popular in 1937 (the year
our chorus was founded), including “My Funny Valentine,” “Some Day My Prince Will Come” and “Summertime,” we will then fast-forward to 1962 (our 25th anniversary year), a year when popular songs included “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend,” and “Gonna Build a Mountain.”  Fast-forwarding again, to 1987 (our 50th anniversary year), we’ll present selections from the great musicals “Into
the Woods” and “Les Miserables.”

Selections from Cole Porter’s lively and enduring musical “Anything Goes” will also be featured in this concert.  “Anything Goes” opened on Broadway in 1934, was revived in 1962 (off-Broadway) and 1987 (Broadway), and is currently enjoying yet another revival on Broadway!

Conducted by John Finney and accompanied by virtuoso pianist Darryl Hollister, this concert offers an enjoyable afternoon of light choral music with table seating and refreshments in Framingham’s impressive and acoustically resonant Nevins Hall.
